I was flattered to be asked to write a piece for the printed guide to the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival this year. I was so excited that people would get to see my writing in print and at such a cool festival. Alas, it was not to be this year, but unbeknownst to me, the story was published quietly online. It starts like this:
